Training heads North

Oak Training and Development have partnered with a new local business to create more training opportunities in the North of the state.

We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with local business Tweetie L’Amour Pet Emporium  The pet emporium will provide work experience placements for people transitioning to work. The program is designed for for young people with a disability to get hands on experience, build valuable skills, confidence and independence that act as a pathway to employment.

After a long time presence at local markets, the emporium moved to a permanent site on Invermay Road in Launceston, with a grand opening taking place in late January. The program if off to a great start with several participants interested in working in the fun environment. The first participant in the program, Nick Kozakis,  is enjoying his placement so far and settling in well.

More to come.
