Nicola Crates Nicola is a trained Speech Pathologist with over 15 years’ experience in Positive Behaviour Support and has been mentored by Dr Gary La Vigna, Clinical Director of The Institute of Applied Behaviour Analysis (IABA) in Los Angeles California, a key researcher and author in this area.

She has published on staff training and associated client outcomes in the Journal of Intellectual Disability in 2012 and has presented extensively on Positive Behaviour Support at National and International Conferences. She was recently contracted by the Tasmanian Department of Education Northern Region to provide training to 16 School Psychologists, Social Workers and Support Teachers.

She has also recently had two articles relating to non-aversive crisis management published in the latest International Journal of Positive Behaviour Support and presents regularly at conferences with recent presentations at the 2016 Younger People with High and Complex. Needs Conference, 2015 National Association for the Study of Intellectual Disability Conference and the 2015 International Institute of Applied Behaviour Analysis Conference and a paper accepted on CoDesign for the International Association for the Study of Intellectual Disability Conference to be held in Melbourne in 2016.
